every time you release a new set of programs i have to ensure norton antivirous that i want those files to run... keeps falling into suspicious cloud 9 category (unknown may be a virus) so you may want to talk to them about it

YOU CAN DO SOMETHING (quite simple) ABOUT IT ALSO:
Open Norton's and EXCLUDE the BOINC PROGRAM FOLDER and the BOINC DATA FOLDERS from ACTIVE and PASSIVE SCAN. You can find the location of the DATA FOLDER in the first 30 lines of your BOINC STARTUP MESSAGE.

Thanks Dr Who Fan. Some antivirus applications think that every new program compiled in visual C++ is malware.
